This site’s crotchety ol' web slinger “Rotten Dan” Rottenberk  called with wonderful news that his daughter gave birth to a seven pound baby girl yesterday.  We all send our love to the new mom and pop, Danielle and Frank, while they frantically continue pouring through lists of baby names,  along with our warmest congratulations to the proud new Pop-pop!

I’ll be visiting Bethesda Naval Hospital this Sunday with my friend Brother David, who volunteers there as a chaplain, to meet some of the injured young men who have paid with more than words for the kind of patriotism our leaders are so good at espousing.
