When we were kids we'd learn a bunch of Irish songs and the nuns would let us out of class to go from room to room and give concerts. It would be me on guitar. My brother Michael on bongos (there was never a more Irish instrument!) Jay Mullen on washtub bass and his younger brother Jimmy blowing jug. Of course Jimmy would hyperventilate after three or four songs and we'd have to let him breathe into a paper bag for awhile... I'd of course loose my voice by lunchtime but it was always worth it. Many years later, on the bar circuit, I'd have to learn the verbal jujitsu necessary to keep the amateur or "one-day-a-year" Irish lads or lassies at bay, or a t least away from the microphone -- mostly I think I kept the lads away from the microphone-- after many many consecutive choruses of "When Iris Eyes Are Smiling" or the "Unicorn Song" Faith! How I miss the green beer... Anyway, lots of folks have been asking when the new CD will be out. The truth is I still don't know. The album been done since the fall but my label - in trying to do all it can to insure the success of the project- has delayed releasing it. This has obviously difficult for all of us but I'm hopeful that in the long run it will pay off. The good news is that MettaFour Records has recently arranged for national distribution of the CD. (That means you will be able to find it in record stores!) It currently looks like we'll have it out in the early part of the summer. I'll pass along an exact date when I get it. Thanks for all the patience and good wishes! Erin go Braugh!
