I've been asked to take part in a local benefit to raise funds for gulf shore disaster relief and I'll let you know as things develop, but my heart tells me that against the biblical scale of suffering we're witnessing, and the stunning fecklessness of our leaders in its face, we need to do so much more than send money. (Although we CERTAINLY need to send money!)  Whether it be by prayer, meditation, fasting, good works... this  country needs to go humbly to its knees and get right... We are a study in contradictions and our better angels have been shouted down, or sleeping, for far too long.
