I love to sing for folks; make new friends and see old ones. The songs seem to jump all the little social fences we are taught to erect between each other. It's an amazing feeling to be introduced to someone and have them literally hug you like a long lost brother. It's the way we should always greet each other I know... I guess a song can be many things, not the least of which is a catalyst for that "should". A good song goes right to the heart. Truth to truth. Deep to deep. And taking the risk, offering that chance to another human being- to look into your heart- can be very rewarding. Mostly, I think, because they see there own. All I know for sure is that if the feeling were something you could put in a bottle you wouldn't be able to keep it on the shelves. Thanks to Dara at the Gardens for giving me the chance to sing all of my songs! And make so many new friends! |
