Well, I don't know about you guys but I think the election's just a formality at
this point. Kerry's going to win and we didn't even need to hear what I thought
was a great speech by JFK. It was the introduction by his daughter Alex that
clinched it. She recounted a childhood memory of her dad saving her
pet hamster from a watery grave by diving into the bay after its cage was
inadvertently knocked off the dock by the tangled leash of their frisky golden
retriever. Not only did Kerry come up with the cage, he even proceeded to
administer CPR and revive the little guy. My eight year old son Ethan, a staunch
Bush supporter (because, he thoughtfully has informed his mother and I,
President Bush is the president of the United States of America and change is
not always a good thing...) on hearing this story decided to switch his
allegiance.
"Dad", he told me, "any grown-up that would dive into the water to save a little
creature must be a very good person!"
In case you missed it my crack staff (otherwise known as Rotten Dan) has come up
with video of the
convention's key note speech by Barak Obama.
If you haven't seen this it's worth the short download.
Peace,
John
