Hi Guys,
Below is a song I wrote for Beth on our anniversary. Actually it's the third
or fourth version of the song. I'm still tinkering with it which is fair because
although it was my intention to write it ON the 16th, I still haven't had a
chance to play it for my bride of 18 years. I did the song in front of 400
people Sunday night and they seemed to enjoy it so I'm hopeful...
One young couple came up to the sales table after the show and asked about
it. The girl said "Every woman dreams of having someone who can write
a beautiful song to her. Your wife is so lucky to have you. " I
smiled and said I was pretty sure that there were times when my wife would trade
me in on a guy who could re-paper the dining room. The girl's boyfriend
seemed to brighten at this...
I really do think it kind of all equals out.
More news soon...
Hope you're all well and staying away from the TV enough to realize how blessed
we all are. Don't cut any bad deals and don't let 'em scare ya!
John

Happy Anniversary Beth!! (Better than Wallpaper?)
Eighteen Years
by John Flynn
Words don’t come easy to this heart of mine
Cups mad of clay get worn and damaged
How can they carry the rare and precious wine
Made in the vineyard we have planted
Eighteen years eighteen years
Eighteen years from now I know
I’ll love you even more than I did
Eighteen years ago
We stood together in that sacred glen
In front of those that love gave to us
Some are not here now, some were not here then
Yet somehow they've touched each other through us
Eighteen years eighteen years
Eighteen years from now I know
I’ll love you even more than I did
Eighteen years ago
Now with our children growing fine and strong
And these gentle lines around our eyes
You're still so beautiful that I struggle to breathe
My senses take leave and I do believe
I do believe...
Eighteen years eighteen years
Eighteen years from now I know
I’ll love you even more than I did
Eighteen years ago
