A Wild Rose
Written with David Mallett

Some flowers are admired in long stemmed bouquets
Society requires a fancy crystal vase
It was never my desire to see you that way
I guess I always knew

That a wild rose forever blooms
In the sun and the rain not locked up in
some room
Where petals may fall and fade all too soon

A wild rose forever blooms
The flowers of the garden are beautiful I guess
Often they're regarded to be the very best
But out there in the yard and away from all the rest
I fell in love with you

Because a wild rose forever blooms
In the sun and the rain though the garden is strewn
With petals that fall and fade all too soon
A wild rose forever blooms

And though summer departs
A cold wind will not touch the place in my heart

Where a wild rose forever blooms
In the sun and the rain like a morning in June
Some flowers may fall and fade all too soon
But a wild rose forever blooms
